The Merilyn Massey Memorial Funds

We have finally put together two Memorial Funds for Merilyn. Due to the urgency of getting her things moved out of her apartment and her home, as well as numerous other details, I have only recently had the time to check into creating these memorial funds. Both are non-profit, tax deductible, and both are organizations that provided invaluable help during Merilyn’s last days.

Since Merilyn did not have health insurance when she died she incurred some medical expenses at the end. We were fortunate to have quick, efficient and caring help from Dignita Hospice during her last few days. Dignita did not charge Merilyn for any of their services, and they provided a lot of service. Here are just a few of the things they provided: a hospital bed, and lots of other equipment that allowed us to keep her at home, home nursing visits, counselors, medications, and important information. Merilyn also received important help from the Bio-Magentics Foundation in her last month. Her round the clock care-givers were all from the Bio-Magnetics group in Tucson. They gave her treatments at least twice a day and amazingly she never took any pain medication, and she claimed she wasn’t in pain. I feel strongly these treatments and the care these women gave her was a contributing factor to her ability to die peacefully and consciously.
